Cooperativa Rocca Madre was founded in 2016 in Pedaso (FM) and is one of the first community cooperatives established in the Marche region. It currently has counts 150 members.
Its mission is to promote sustainable agricultural models and serve as an example of an integral ecological economy—ethically committed to both the environment and people—within the Valdaso area.
Valdaso, the cooperative’s community of engagement, is a small valley in southern Marche, located between the provinces of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo.
Rocca Madre focuses on two primary activities: first, it manages the traditional grain supply chain, particularly the Miscuglio di Aleppo, overseeing the entire process from seed production to transformation and commercialization. Then, it operates a bakery workshop in Pedaso (FM), which serves as a hub for flour storage, bread, pasta, and baked goods production, as well as organizing educational and awareness events.
The cooperative is also working to transform its community space into an innovative co-cooking hub, where young chefs collaborate to prepare high-quality meals for members, the local community, and tourists. This initiative fosters collaboration and highlights the value of local products.
