Quid is a type B social cooperative and social enterprise founded in Verona in 2012, initially as a Social Promotion Association and converted into a cooperative the following year. It operates in the ethical fashion and tailoring sector, producing limited-edition collections from surplus and end-of-line fabrics recovered in collaboration with a network of fabric suppliers and brand partners, with a business model spanning both B2B and B2C channels.
Through the design, production and distribution of sustainable garments and accessories, Quid builds inclusive pathways of training and professional development across its workshops, offices and shops. It creates employment opportunities for people at risk of exclusion and discrimination in the labour market, with particular attention to migrants, refugees and women who are victims of violence. The main headquarters and production workshop are in Avesa (VR), complemented by two prison workshops at the Montorio Correctional Facility.
Quid’s model integrates on-the-job training, welfare support and leadership development, with the aim of maximizing the impact of employment inclusion and generating replicable practices. On the commercial side, the brand has established itself as one of the first independent ethical fashion labels Made in Italy to successfully combine social and environmental sustainability with accessible design and pricing.
The support from Restart Italia is directed at developing three strategic assets of the cooperative. The first is Workplaces Lab, an annual inclusive on-the-job training programme run in the Avesa workshops. The second is Workplaces Without Borders, which extends training activities to both wings of the Montorio Veronese Correctional Facility. The third is Quid oltre Quid, a fully-fledged Academy through which the cooperative has launched a programme of events, workshops and team-building activities for companies and professional networks around the themes of sustainable work and business, with the aim of building partnerships with for-profit organisations wishing to develop their diversity & inclusion recruitment programmes.
