Shamba Pride is an online-to-offline marketplace, through which agro-dealers can digitize their operations and provide the farmers the right and affordable products, and services. In doing so, the company has been able to benefit two key players in the agricultural sector: the farmer and the agro dealer. The farmer benefits from provision of agricultural inputs, extension services and training that ensures increased farm production and income; while reducing agro-dealer inefficiencies by providing them with technological interventions, bringing in quality suppliers of input on the platform, and streamlining the supply chain to and from the agro-dealers.
The problem that Shamba Pride addresses is the rural distribution of agriculture inputs and services and lack of information trapping farming families in a cycle of poor farm productivity and poverty. While there are many innovations and technologies around agriculture inputs and services, they remain poorly accessible to rural farmers who need them most.
Shamba Pride solves the supply chain between input manufacturers, agri- retailers and farmers through an online-to-offline commerce platform. This removes the need for many intermediaries, significantly lowering the cost of farming to farmers while solving decade long price exploitation, quality, and information access challenges. Shamba Pride has over 60,000 registered farmers and 2,700 agri-retailers.
