Irri-Hub Ke leverages technology to develop affordable, efficient, and sustainable irrigation products that help smallholder farmers increase their agricultural productivity and build resilience toward climate change.
The problem being addressed is over-reliance on rain-fed agriculture by smallholder farmers in Kenya. This exposes farmers to low-value crops and low yield which translates to low income. Irri-Hub Ke supplies rainwater harvesting technology with solar-powered irrigation systems accompanied by other products like greenhouses, shade houses, screen houses, and mulching technology.
While most market players focus on horticultural and large-scale farmers, Irri-Hub Ke has played an important role by providing affordable irrigation solutions to smallholder farmers. By addressing their challenges, Irri-Hub Ke supports farmers in getting accurate information on soil composition, short-term high-value crops to grow, weather patterns etc. This has enabled the smallholder farmers to increase their income per year which translates into improvement in livelihood.
The mission of Irri-Hub Ke is to provide climate smart irrigation solutions bundled up with full-stack services to smallholders in Africa increasing yield while building resilience against climate change.
