AREA SOCIETA’ COOPERATIVA

Area Società Cooperativa is a social enterprise specializing in the design and management of services aimed at people, especially families and minors.
Area was founded in 2001 in the province of Brescia as a spin-off of Co.Ge.S.S, another cooperative operating in the same city that deals with the management of services for people with disabilities and that in the 1990s decided to start new projects dedicated to minors.
The cooperative works in close collaboration with the territory and other the different actors involved (principals, users, families), as well as with other cooperative and consortium entities in Brescia. It develops its activities particularly in the territory of Valle Sabbia and Garda Bresciano.
Over the years, Area has expanded its range of services, coming to manage initiatives that address different areas, including: services for minors, family services, services for children, services for prevention and animation, and services for social inclusion.
Even during the Covid pandemic, Area has proven to be a cooperative that has never lost its desire to innovate and experiment, continuing to seek new solutions to meet the challenges of the moment.
Thanks in part to the support of Restart Italia, there are three main projects the cooperative is working on. The first is W.A.T. (Welfare Aziendale Territoriale della Valle Sabbia), which aims to promote the development of a local welfare system to improve the quality of life of local citizens. The second project focuses on the educational area and aims to help young people develop their critical thinking and reduce school dropout rates, creating an inclusive and aware community. Finally, the last project concerns “Outdoor education” and aims to introduce innovative methodological approaches in therapy and education, such as trekking therapy and outdoor kindergarten.
