Carolyne Kirabo brings more than 15 years of experience in investment finance, management consulting and business advisory support. Carolyne is a recognized Impact and Gender Lens investing pioneer in East Africa, having led funds including Mango Fund, Yunus Social Business and Mercy Corps Ventures.
During her work she has successfully built expertise in supporting impact investment funds and enterprise support organizations to adopt gender smart strategies. Some of these strategies included integrating gender considerations across investment processes, designing pre and post investment support with a gender lens, and designing impact management strategies that drive fair representation of gender across value chains.
She holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School and is an Alumni with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
She has served as a steering committee member of the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs East Africa Chapter and on the Board of Directors of Finding XY and United Social Ventures.

Since 2018 she has been Head of Communications, Strategic Partnerships and Event Organization of the Opes-lcef Foundation. Previously she was for 17 years Head of the Communications sector and adviser to the NGO ACRA. She is a trainer and consultant in the field of intercultural projects and social entrepreneurship; expert in Media Literacy, communication and cinema; author of numerous articles, essays, dossiers, multimedia kits and documentaries of an educational-social nature and a passionate teacher for 40 years. Since the early 90s she has worked as a consultant and trainer in the field of media and intercultural communication for Unicef Lombarda, for ISMU and for various NGOs (Manitese, Save the Children, Fratelli dell’Uomo, Cospe, Lvia, Coe…) and as a consultant and trainer in cinema education projects for Cinecittà Holding, the MIUR, the MiBACT, the IRRSAE Lombardia, the AGIS Lombarda, the Cinematographic Activities Sector of the Lombardy Region, the Cinematographic Studies Center, the Autonomous Province of Trento and numerous other Italian provinces. He organized for 15 years the International Review of Audiovisual Cinevideoscuola of Bergamo. For several years he has been collaborating with the COE in the promotion of the African, Asian and Latin American Film Festival and in particular he collaborated in the conception of the first two editions of MiWY (MiWorld Young Film Festival). He is vice president of Cem Mondialità, an association that deals with interculture.
Thomas is a Management Engineer with a master’s degree from Politecnico di Milano. During his final year of university, he specialized in “Sustainability & Social Impact”, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental and social issues.
His passion for technology led him to develop his master’s thesis on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in ESG ratings, providing an in-depth analysis of the benefits, limitations, and ethical implications of the use of AI in this field.
To demonstrate his commitment to responsible and sustainable financial practices, Thomas also earned his CFA certification in ESG Investing.
He currently serves as a portfolio analyst at Fondazione Opes-Lcef and is part of the organizational team of the Social Enterprise Open Camp (SEOC).
Sara, prior to joining OPES-LCEF, spent over 8 years executing corporate deals in the Capital Markets and supporting SMEs to become bankable by providing bespoke technical assistance and support through business advisory services and linking clients to financiers, markets and relevant resources. She is passionate about tackling climate change, creative deal structuring, the detective work of due diligence to uncover the growth potential in businesses and most of all, linking these businesses to resources as I believe that funding the missing middle is a lynchpin to growing these businesses to the next level and alleviating poverty.
Solid CEO and general management experience in small and medium sized companies achieving positive financial results and growth. She joined McKinsey & Company in 1987 after various work experiences in Sweden. She collaborated on projects in Scandinavia, Italy and Russia. Since 1991 she has been permanently operating in Italy where she has has been CEO for various companies, and member of the Board also of companies listed on the stock exchange. She has worked in the non-profit sector as consultant and Board member.

Ha conseguito un Diploma post-laurea in Management, con indirizzo in Finanza presso il KJ Somaiya Institute e una laurea in biotecnologia industriale presso Anna University in India.
