Need
Women represent over 50% of the world population. Although the effectiveness of their contribution to the growth and well-being of families and communities is commonly recognized, women continue to be underrepresented in leadership positions and to have greater difficulty accessing, compared to men, the social and financial resources that could increase their success. Making children cut by one-third women’s payroll prospects. It diverts their energies and finally puts them in front of the choice between professional career and family. Italy is among the European countries that invest less in family policies: 1.8% of GDP. The consequences are felt above all on the female employment rate, standing at 49.5% and clearly below the EU average. In 2018 out of 49,451 parents who left the job voluntarily, the mothers were over 35,000. The reason is always the same: incompatibility between work life and family. And the problem is largely cultural: 4 out of 10 Italian men think this is right.
