Joan Gatuhi

Joan is passionate about the intersection of sustainability, social impact and profits as she believes they all contribute to improving community livelihoods, especially those at the bottom of the pyramid.
She has spent over nine years working with innovative early stage and mature businesses within the financial inclusion, agri-business, waste management and renewable energy sectors in Sub- Saharan Africa. Having previously worked in the private equity and venture capital space, she has extensive experience in the full investment cycle, pre- and post investment management support, fundraising, and technical assistance. She trains entrepreneurs in financial modelling, investment readiness, business valuation and investor pitching. She has been a training facilitator, business coach and mentor in a number of accelerator programs: E4Impact Accelerator Program, Netfund (GoK) Program, ARRESOK (French Embassy), O-Farms Training Program (IKEA Foundation) and the Acumen Academy – Pakistan Agriculture Accelerator.
She holds an undergraduate degree, BSc. Actuarial Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and is currently a CFA Level III candidate in the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) program.
